Some excellent new things from The Sartorialist.

If you are unfamiliar with Scott Schuman, he is the fashion photographer behind The Sartorialist. He wanders the streets of the world’s fashion capitals and takes photographs of random passers by. See more and read more at thesartorialist.com.
Shopping, anyone?

The Moment I Wake Up
January 18, 2009 · 2 Comments
Today was momentous. I started The 365 Day Project again.

Here are my accompanying thoughts:
“I can’t believe I’m doing this again.
And I am so excited about it. After disappearing from Flickr last summer when preparations for college began, I fell into a slump. I had the camera, but the desire was lacking. However, having been immersed in the creative world for the past few months, things have changed. It’s funny how a stimulating environment can make all the difference.
Also, I owe something to a friend, who is embarking on this project with me. Hopefully we can inspire each other.
Here we go again. Are you ready?”
You can follow me for the next year at flickr.com.

A Prelude To People Watching
January 12, 2009 · 3 Comments
Urban Dictionary defines people watching as “a hobby in which you go out and watch people. The way they act, dress, and talk. Like bird watching except very entertaining.” A commenter named Jim Rule replied with this faux conversation on the topic:
Fred: “What did you do last night?”
Loser: “I went people watching.”
Fred: “What?”
Loser: “People watching, when you go and watch random people.”
Fred: “You need to get a life.”
Obviously, Fred is a cool guy.
But in our opinion, people watching is one of the best possible pastimes. Which, according to Jim, makes us losers. We hope you disagree. We sure do.
All of that said, here is a collection of people watching photos I’ve snagged and compiled just for you, as a glorious prelude to our first people watching post. Look for it tomorrow evening.

Peace.

Yokoo
December 25, 2008 · Leave a Comment
Winter just got about fifty times more exciting.

This is Yokoo, an Atlanta-based Etsy seller who knits these incredible pieces of neckwear, and is kind enough to sell them to the rest of us. She has found herself thrown into a kind of minor fame – with features in Elle and Nylon, boutiques across the country selling her wares, and many dozens of mentions on top blogs.
If you’ve got an extra $25 to $199 to spend this holiday season, hop on over to her Etsy store or, if you don’t, check out her Flickr photostream. Or, if you know how to knit, you best get started.
As for me, I’m saving up.
